Bringing Affordable, Accessible Housing to Disabled Individuals

James River Apartments is a model supportive housing facility for individuals with physical disabilities. The two buildings (one at 1301 Blakemore Road and the other at 1517 Jeff Davis Highway) will help residents achieve maximum levels of independence through affordable, fully accessible apartments. All too often, individuals with physical disabilities are unable to afford an accessible apartment, even when they have the necessary independent living skills to be on their own. With your support we will help 14 disabled individuals overcome this persistent accessible housing obstacle.

Creating Affordable, Accessible Housing for Disabled Veterans

Did you know that on any given night in America, 200,000 veterans are homeless? 225 of them go unsheltered right here in Richmond.

Veterans Apartments, will provide permanent housing with comprehensive support services for 8 formerly homeless veterans with disabilities.

The building (which is located at 4909 Chamberlayne Avenue) is being renovated, and the two first floor units will be fully accessible apartments. The site is fully accessible for easy access to the street and public transportation.
